Motorcyclist Dies In Collision With Napa County Fire Engine

The fatal crash happened Sunday afternoon on state Highway 128 in St. Helena as the engine was responding to an unrelated collision.

NAPA COUNTY, CA — California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal collision that happened Sunday between a Napa County fire engine and a motorcyclist. CHP identified the deceased motorcyclist Monday as Carlos Lorenzo-Guerrero, 38, of Rohnert Park.

At 1:38 p.m. Sunday, the fire truck was en route to an unrelated crash on Sage Canyon Road/state Highway 128 near Lake Hennessey when it collided with the motorcyclist, according to a statement from Cal Fire/Napa County Fire.

Napa Area CHP Officer Marc Renspurger says Lorenzo-Guerrero was riding a 2014 Yamaha motorcycle west on SR-128 at an unknown speed when he lost control on a right-hand curve in the road and collided with the engine.
