Napa Co. Judge Sentences Serial Child Molester To Life In Prison
A California judge sentenced a 49-year-old man to 202 years to life in prison Thursday for the sexual assault of multiple children.
NAPA, CA — A Napa County Superior Court judge sentenced a 49-year-old man to 202 years to life in prison Thursday for the sexual assault of multiple children, prosecutors said.
A jury convicted Lucio Villegas of nine counts involving the sexual assault of children and one count of dissuading a witness from reporting a crime.
The convictions were the result of sexual contact the defendant had with one family member and two close family friends — who were between ages 7 and 14 at the time — between 2010 and 2019 in Napa County, according to a news release Friday from the office of Napa County District Attorney Allison Haley.

"While the people acknowledge that this is a severe sentence, it is absolutely appropriate," she said in a statement. "This defendant deserved no leniency. He deserved to be punished in a way that was commensurate with his horrific actions. I hope that with this sentence, the survivors can begin their healing process."
