Napa County Board of Supervisors Proclaims Napa Writers Week

Napa County names third week of October Napa Writers Week. Community Celebration of local authors takes place October 22.

On Tuesday, October 4, Alfredo Pedroza, on behalf of the Napa County Board of Supervisors issued a proclamation naming the third week of October Writers Week in the County of Napa. The proclamation was presented to Kathleen Thomas, President of Napa Valley Writers, a branch of California Writers Club. Kathleen echoes the sentiment expressed in the last paragraph of the proclamation, which encourages the people of Napa County to reflect upon the contributions California writers have made to humankind.

On Saturday, October 22, 12-2 pm, a celebration of Napa County's talented authors will take place at Napa Bookmine. Published authors will be available and will be offering signed copies of their books available for purchase. A portion of book sales will benefit Napa Valley Writers. For more information on this event, please see Napa Bookmine Local Authors Celebration.

Napa Valley Writers, a branch of California Writers Club, hosts monthly guest speaker meetings as well as workshops, open mic readings, salons, and other events focusing on the work of writers in the valley. For more information, contact Kathleen Thomas, writerpaints@gmail.com or visit napavalleywriters.net.
