Napa County Lifts Health Advisory For Napa River Tributary Creek
An advisory regarding water in a tributary to the Napa River between Maple Lane and Nash Creek, has been lifted.
NAPA COUNTY, CA — A months-long environmental and health advisory for a Napa River tributary creek in the Dutch Henry Canyon area has been lifted, Napa County officials said Friday. The advisory April 25 was prompted when leachate, which is water contaminated by chemicals and metals from garbage — in this case from Clover Flat Landfill — was seen entering the creek, according to county officials.
The advisory from Napa County Public Health Officer Dr. Karen Relucio to not consume, use or contact water in the tributary to the Napa River between Maple Lane and Nash Creek, has been lifted, said Molly Rattigan, deputy county executive officer.
"The tributary is currently dry," Rattigan said. "The Regional Water Quality Control Board has determined that there is no risk associated with the tributary at this time."
