NAPA, CA — Napa County Supervisor Belia Ramos, a Napa County native and mother of three children, has been elected to serve as vice president of the Association of Bay Area Governments, county officials announced in a news release. Ramos' two-year term as VP begins in January, as does Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguin's new leadership role as president of ABAG.

Founded in 1961, ABAG is the regional planning agency for the Bay Area's nine counties and 101 cities and towns, and is recognized as the first council of governments in California.

"What an honor it is to be elected alongside Jesse Arreguin by our Bay Area peers to lead such an important organization as ABAG," said Ramos, who represents District 5 encompassing American Canyon, portions of the city of Napa and the County's industrial area.
