In Napa County: Openings on Transportation Committee and Alcohol/Drug Board

There are five slots for Advisory Board on Alcohol and Drug Programs, and one for Transportation Advisory Committee.

From the County of Napa:

The County Executive Officer announces the existence of one General Public opening on the Napa County Transportation Planning Agency (NCTPA) Active Transportation Advisory Committee.

The individual representing the general public must be an active transportation advocate who lives or works in the cities or county of Napa. The Board of Supervisors will nominate one individual to represent the unincorporated area with a final appointment to be made by the Napa County Transportation Planning Agency.

The term of office will commence immediately and expire December 31, 2017.

Anyone interested in consideration for appointment must submit an application to the County Executive Office, 2741 Napa Valley Corporate Dr., Napa (707) 253-4421 no later than 5p.m. on Feb. 27, 2015.

Click on the Committees and Commissions link in the left-hand navigation under County Info. To submit an application online, click “application for appointment” and follow the application instructions.

The committee meets on the 4th Monday of each month at 5p.m. in the NCTPA Conference Room, 625 Burnell Street, Napa.

The Active Transportation Advisory Committee (ATAC) advises the Transportation Planning Agency on the development of active transportation facilities, including bicycle and pedestrian facilities as alternative modes of transportation.

The ATAC review process ensures that Active Transportation projects within the cities and county of Napa: promote and encourage bicycle use for commute, shopping, and personal trips; promote and encourage walking; reduce motor vehicle trips; reduce motor vehicle miles traveled; reduce motor vehicle congestion; and promote air quality.

The County Executive Officer announces openings on the Napa County Advisory Board on Alcohol and Drug Programs representing the categories noted below.

• One Education representative - term expiring Jan 1, 2017

• Two Recovering Community representative – terms expiring Jan 1, 2017 and Jan 1, 2018

• Two Student Members - term expiring Jan 1, 2018

The Advisory Board meets from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at Health and Human Services, 2344 Old Sonoma Road, Bldg. F, Room 111-112 in Napa.

Anyone interested in consideration for appointment must submit a completed application form and apply either through the above listed coordinating agency/organization or directly to the County Executive Office, 2741 Napa Valley Corporate Dr. Bldg 2, Napa, 94559 no later than 5 p.m. on Feb. 20, 2015.

The Advisory Board consists of 16 members representing probation, education, law enforcement, the business community, alcohol industry, recovering community, interested citizens and students (one position shared by two students with one representative vote).
