Napa Lighted Christmas Parade Canceled As Storm Looms

NAPA, CA — Due to inclement weather, the Downtown Napa Association has canceled the Christmas Parade, scheduled for this Saturday, Dec. 10, according to a statement issued Friday afternoon by the city of Napa.

"The Downtown Association has made the difficult decision to cancel the annual Christmas Parade scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday, December 10th) due to safety concerns of operating during inclement weather," the city of Napa said. "The weather forecast is predicting heavy rains and moderate winds during the scheduled parade time."

The event was scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday on Second, Brown and Third streets in downtown Napa.

"We are sad to share this news, but it is for the safety of our community – both for the parade participants and the parade viewers!"

The city of Napa rang in the holidays early as the tree lighting was held over Thanksgiving week.
