Napa Lighted Christmas Parade Canceled As Storm Looms

NAPA, CA — Due to inclement weather, the Downtown Napa Association has canceled the Christmas Parade, scheduled for this Saturday, Dec. 10, according to a statement issued Friday afternoon by the city of Napa.

"The Downtown Association has made the difficult decision to cancel the annual Christmas Parade scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday, December 10th) due to safety concerns of operating during inclement weather," the city of Napa said. "The weather forecast is predicting heavy rains and moderate winds during the scheduled parade time."

The event was scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday on Second, Brown and Third streets in downtown Napa.

Friday Night

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 4am, then a chance of showers. Some of the storms could produce small hail. Low around 39. West wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday
A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 10am. Some of the storms could produce small hail. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52. North northeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday Night
A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce small hail. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. Light and variable wind becoming north northeast around 6 mph in the evening.
