Napa Man Arrested In Connection With Fatal Browns Valley Rd Crash
The 31-year-old Napa resident's bail was set at $100,000.
NAPA, CA — A Napa man was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing bodily injury in connection with a collision Sunday in which he and his passenger suffered serious injuries and a Rohnert Park man died, an official with the Napa Police Department said Tuesday. Napa resident Gary Lee Lindstrom, 31 years old, was the driver of an Infiniti G37S that struck a red Chevy Camaro driven by Kevin Brando Patland, 23, of Rohnert Park, at 7:27 p.m. at the intersection of Browns Valley Road and Woodlawn Drive.
Napa police and fire personnel responded to find Patland, Lindstrom and Lindstrom's passenger, a 28-year-old Milpitas woman, all suffering from serious injuries.
All three were taken by ambulance to Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa, where Patland died from his injuries.

Napa police Sgt. Kristofer Jenny said that at the time of the collision, Lindstrom was driving westbound on Browns Valley and Patland was turning eastbound onto Browns Valley when the Infinti hit the Camaro on the driver's side.
"At the scene, Mr. Lindstrom displayed the objective symptoms of intoxication," Jenny said in a news release Tuesday. "A DUI investigation was conducted, and as a result of that investigation, Mr. Lindstrom was arrested for [...] DUI causing bodily injury."

Upon Lindstrom's release from the hospital, he was booked into Napa County jail in connection with the injuries suffered by his passenger, Jenny said.
Jail records show Lindstrom was placed under arrest at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, and was booked into jail at 1:47 a.m. Monday.
His bail was set at $100,000.
"No charges have been filed related to Mr. Patland's death," Jenny said. "Once the investigation is completed, including the results of toxicology tests, a request may be submitted to the Napa County District Attorney’s Office for further charges."
Jenny said the Napa Police Department thanks witnesses who have contacted them regarding the investigation, and encourages anyone else who may have witnessed the crash to contact Officer Tom Helfrich at 707-257-9223 or thelfrich@cityofnapa.org.
