Napa Police Chief Announces Retirement
Breaking: The Napa native has served the community for 36 years in public safety.

NAPA, CA -- The Napa Police Department will soon need to begin its search for a new police chief.
On Wednesday, the department announced the retirement of Napa Police Chief Steve Potter, effective Oct. 31.
"Over the years, many of us have come to know and love Chief Steve Potter," the department said in a statement. "So it is with mixed feelings that we announce his retirement."

Potter, a Napa native, has served the community for 36 years in public safety.
"...He understands the wants and needs of all residents in our city," the statement continued. "His focus has always been on providing a level of service that provides dignity, respect, and a high quality of life for everyone. He has had the utmost respect for the employees of the department, all city employees, and for the members of this community. We want to thank him for his service and his dedication to the community and wish him the best in retirement."
