Napa Porchfest: Soloists Perform on Even Street

Stroll by the odd side of Even Street on July 31 to hear guitarist Donovan Jurich from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and pianist/singer Sharon Hedlund from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

The Watter family home at 427 Even St. in downtown Napa hosts a double bill during , July 31.

Starting at 2 p.m., guitarist Donovan Jurich performs solo on the Watters’ porch, followed by singer/pianist Sharon Hedlund, who welcomes Napa Porchfest listeners in this YouTube video.

Jurich and Hedlund are among more than 120 local musicians in 42 performing units playing for free on 28 porches in historic neighborhoods around the city of Napa during the three-hour festival.

Believed to be the first porch music festival in California, Napa Porchfest was inspired by the original Porchfest in Ithaca, N.Y.

Following the festival, musicians and listeners alike are invited to the for a no-host after-party.
