Napa Valley Art Association General Meeting - October 28th 1:00-3:00

THE NEXT Napa Valley Art Association General Meeting will be October 28th at 1:00 at 1520 Behrens St., Napa

The Diversity of Encaustics
Our demonstrator will be Jocelyn Audette.

She will talk mostly about working with encaustic. She received her Bachelor of Fine arts at the University of Colorado in 1977 where her focus was abstract painting. Since then, she has focused mostly on landscape and figurative work in oils, encaustics, monotypes, pen and ink, and watercolor. She loves creating dramatic compositions, and working with intense color and interesting textures. Encaustic paint has amazing color and allows you to create textures and surfaces that you cannot achieve any other way. Not only can paint with it, you can mold it, carve it, print with it, and use it as a collage medium.

The Napa Valley Art Association has been an active organization of local artists for the past 54 years, encouraging both local artists and students; and currently sustains a membership of over 200 artists.

NVAA is a private, nonprofit arts organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for the Napa Valley by supporting arts and culture throughout the county. We provide funding, advocacy, marketing and exhibition opportunities for local artists. A large portion of member dues and a percentage of art sold contributes annually to the NVAA Scholarship Fund, which benefits local high school and college students who wish to pursue artistic careers.
