Near the end of the month, the will begin to charge for online access to its website, napavalleyregister.com.

The newspaper announced its decision to begin charging to access its online content in this story. According to the story, online-only access will cost users of the website $9.95 per month. Print subscribers will have to pay $1.95 per month to access the online content.
Users will have the opportunity to view 10 online articles a month before access is cut off. The pay wall goes up on Aug.20, according to the Register.

The Register's story states: "As the digital age has evolved, it has become clear that online subscription revenue is essential to the future of newspaper journalism. As news consumers have migrated from print to digital content, so too have newsroom resources and expenses."
News of the Register's Pay Wall lit up their Facebook page with comments Saturday night/early Sunday morning.
