New Resource-Sharing Of Movies, Music, Books Comes To Napa County Library System

The loan period for most items will be the same 21 days!

NAPA COUNTY, CA – News submitted from the Napa County Library:

The Napa County Library’s access to materials just increased by 11 million movies, music and books through Link+, a consortium of libraries throughout the state of California and Nevada. To start, these items can be requested by patrons through library staff- either in person or by phone. These libraries include San Francisco Public, Oakland, Marin and numerous academic institutions.

These items are received between five and seven days and patrons are notified upon arrival.

The loan period for most items is the same 21 days as Napa County Library materials. Some movies and music are lent for seven days. If no one else has a hold on them, they can also be renewed, the same as our own materials.

There’s no cost to get a library card or make use of this service.

The next feature we’ll be adding allows users to make requests through Link+ directly. We’re the first library to bring this functionality to our catalog and are in the final stages of testing holds placed directly by our customers.

We’re also excited to create this connection to the Pacific Union College’s collection in Angwin, which will ultimately allow both institutions to borrow materials from each other. The Napa Valley College and Solano Community College are already on our shared catalog, where resources are delivered daily.
