SAN DIEGO -- Justin-Siena's girls roared past Archbishop Jordan of Canada, 47-38, on Thursday to capture third place in the Surf N' Slam Classic basketball tournament.
Hailey Breakwell scored 20 points and 10 rebounds in the victory over the team from Alberta, Canada. The Braves improved to 9-4.
All-tournament selection Katherine Lee had 14 points and grabbed five steals. Freshman Haley Cremen scored six points for the Braves, who are ranked ninth in the North Coast Section by maxpreps.com.

Eastlake of Sammamish, Wash. defeated the Braves 58-49 on Wednesday. Eastlake of Chula Vista (9-3) defeated Justin-Siena (8-4) 58-49 on Tuesday.
Senior Chelsea Lazzari scored 14 points and have eight rebounds for the Braves in the loss to the team from Washington. Breakwell had 14 points. Lee and Caroline Zaia had 11 points and six points respectively.

Jenna Joske had four steals and Zaia five in the defeat.
Justin-Siena will open the Marin County Athletic League season Tuesday at Branson, in Ross, at the College of Marin at 7:30 p.m.
Justin-Siena JV split two: Justin's girls junior varsity team defeated Alhambra, 35-28, to finish seventh in the Piedmont Tournament on Wednesday. The Braves lost to Marin Catholic 31-30 on Tuesday. Tina Moore had 14 points and six rebounds to lead the Braves against Marin Catholic. Lauren Kirk had four points and four rebounds. Payton Orr grabbed six rebounds.
