By NVOS artist Karen Lynn Ingalls
New NVOS artist Sheryl Lane Marshall specializes in textural artwork created with acrylic paints and mixed media.
Sheryl is inspired by the immense variety of things she finds in the world around her, but, pressed to specify, she lists people, places, things, colors, moods, and music as inspirations. "The universe is a place of magic and wonderment," she says.
Sheryl finds she is the most creative when she "connects' with the paint by using her hands instead of brushes or palette knives. Using various acrylic mediums, paper, wire mesh, and a playful spirit, she builds up the textures in her work.
Having shown her work previously in solo, juried, and group shows, Sheryl now joins us for Open Studios – and you can see her work at Studio #19, at 308 Skylark Way, in Napa, California. You can also find her work online at: www.SherylLaneMarshall.com.
NVOS artist Karen Lynn Ingalls writes for this blog and our Facebook page (seen it yet?) and paints, paints, paints. You can see her artwork during Open Studios at Studio #48, with Sequoia Buck, west of Calistoga, and online at www.KarenLynnIngalls.com. She also teaches art classes and workshops, which you can find at www.NapaValleyArtWorkshops.com.
