NVOS ceramics artist Eva Bedolla

By NVOS artist Karen Lynn Ingalls
NVOS ceramics artist Eva Bedolla, new to Open Studios this year, likes to create beautiful art pottery for everyday living that is also practical in its use. Rather than relying on "plastic and mass produced objects," Eva says, "there is meaning behind a single piece created for giving joy." Eva finds her inspiration from all around – in colors, shapes, needs, and requests – whatever gives her that "aha!" moment. She begins by drawing up a sketch, and then constructing the piece. She particularly enjoys creating work that feels good in your hands, and chooses colors to convey a specific mood. Eva's accomplishments include receiving a Napa Valley College art scholarship in ceramics, a Best of Show award at the Napa Valley Expo for table mosaic, and an invitation to exhibit ceramic pieces at the Cakebread Food & Wine Event. You can visit Eva during Open Studios September 21-22 & 28-29, 2013, with the Hagen Road artists at Studio #29, at 3960 Hagen Road, in Napa, California.

NVOS artist Karen Lynn Ingalls writes for this blog and our Facebook page (seen it yet?) and paints, paints, paints. You can see her artwork at www.KarenLynnIngalls.com.
