NVOS artist Constance Reid reports that photography opens her eyes to a visual and spiritual feast that makes possible the sense of gratitude which is her guiding principle. “When I am able to fully immerse myself in a subject, I find that it feeds my soul and I am simply grateful, whether it is a vineyard sunset, a clearing storm, or the experiences of a lifetime found in a beautiful pair of hands,” says Connie.
She fell for photography in the days of 35mm and 4x5 film, but later – after initial resistance – she embraced digital imaging for the endless creative possibilities it offered. Now she sometimes works in a more painterly style, using her computer to add multiple textures to an image.
Connie also photographs children and families.
Her work can be seen at Stix & Stones Gallery in Calistoga and at Artists of the Valley Gallery in downtown Napa.
You can visit Connie during Open Studios, and see the magic she creates, at Studio #5, 437 Adams St., in Napa, California – and you can preview her work on the web atwww.constancereid.com.
