By NVOS artist Cathryne Trachok
Sharing a studio space with fellow NVOS artist and wife, Kristi Rene, NVOS artist Edmund Ian Grant is a staple of the Open Studios Tour. Internationally recognized and locally lauded, Edmund’s work is a mixture of figurative and abstract. Almost cubist, and uniquely his own, they are artworks that engage the viewer. By utilizing shape, color, form, hard and soft edges, Grant has a way of presenting ideas that are thought-provoking and visual all in one painting.
From acrylic to oils to mixed media and digital, a trip to the Villa Spankadellik is not to be missed. From original paintings to prints, large to small, there is a fabulous mixture of art that Edmund and his studio partner, Kristi Rene, have available.
Edmund Ian Grant’s studio is #34, 2411 Soda Canyon Road, just off the beautiful Silverado Trail. You can visit Edmund’s artworks online for a sneak peek of his work,www.edmundiangrant.com.
Their studio space, also known as Villa Spankadellik, is a landmark here in the Napa Valley, and Open Studios is a great chance to peruse the 3800 square feet of space filled with art. Winning the 1st prize for the Leonardo Award for Digital Art at the Chianciano International Art Show in 2012, in Chianciano Terme, Italy, as well as many other local, national, and international awards, Grant is quite the accomplished painter.
Cathryne Trachok works from, in, and around the Napa Valley, using her vision to create artworks celebrating the beautiful world we live in. You can meet her and see her work at Studio #4 during Open Studios, and you can see her work online at www.catrachokstudios.com.
