NVOS watercolor painter, Suzanne K. D'Arcy

By NVOS artist Davina Rubin

NVOS Artist Suzanne K. D’Arcy
paints watercolors. She loves the versatility of the medium, the exciting things that happen when colors flow and create interesting effects.

Suzanne won the People’s Choice award for the 2012 Taste of Yountville show, and was named Artist of the Year by the Napa Valley Art Association.

Her inspiration comes from many sources - people, places, animals - all are exciting subjects. “There are always about a half dozen paintings in my mind waiting to be created.” Her styles and techniques vary according to her subject matter. The Africa palette uses about three colors, whereas her other subjects require a more varied palette in their execution. Her current work includes a series honoring the Amish way of life.

Suzanne's venue this year is new - a beautiful estate with acres of vineyards and a lovely view. There will be African paintings and some surprises. Visit her at Studio #23, at 1041 Las Amigas Road, in Napa, California.
