Opening Available on Area Agency on Aging for Napa/Solano Counties
Deadline for applicants is Jan. 23.

From the County of Napa:
The County Executive Officer announces one opening on the Area Agency on Aging Serving Napa and Solano Counties representing Supervisorial District #5 with the term of office to commence immediately and expire July 1, 2016.
Applicants need not reside in the supervisorial district. However, residents of the district will receive priority in consideration for the appointment.

The Agency consists of 16 members who serve on the Board of Directors. One member is from each supervisorial district of Solano County and one member is from each supervisorial district of Napa County. Additionally, three members from each county are elected by the Agency.
The role of the Agency is to plan, coordinate and advocate for the development of local programs to meet the needs of older persons. Funds are received from both the federal and state government through the California Department of Aging (CDA) and from Napa and Solano Counties. The Agency either directly provides or contracts with local entities for vital services needed by older adults in the community. The Agency also monitors all programs to assure that resources are used properly and effectively.

Anyone interested in consideration for appointment must submit a completed application form and apply either through the above listed coordinating agency/organization or directly to the County Executive Office, 1195 Third Street, Room 310, Napa, 94559, (707) 253-442.1 no later than 5:00 p.m. on January 23, 2014.
