Sloan died at Queen of the Valley Medical Center about 45 minutes after the crash, according to Henry Wofford, spokesperson for the Napa County Sheriff-Coroner's Office.

Road closures were in place for about two hours for the Napa Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team. Soscol was closed between Kansas Avenue and Saratoga Drive, and southbound Silverado Trail was closed at Saratoga Drive.

The preliminary investigation indicated a car was traveling northbound on Soscol when it collided with an SUV that was turning onto Silverado Trail from Soscol.

Police said the involved parties cooperated with the investigation.

Neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be factors.
