Pepperwood Preserve 105-Acre Controlled Burn 'Going As Planned'
Drift smoke was expected to continue Friday within Napa and Sonoma counties. See a brief video about the project.

NORTH BAY, CA — Firefighters successfully treated 70 acres Thursday at Pepperwood Preserve in eastern Sonoma County as part of a 105-acre prescribed burn, Cal Fire officials said in an update.
The final 30 acres were expected to be treated Friday on the eastern Sonoma County burn operation. The project is meant to reduce wildfire risk on a ridge that is strategic for fire control and separates Franz Valley and the Mark West area.
"As Firefighters are utilizing low-intensity fire, you may have drift smoke within Sonoma and Napa Counties today," Cal Fire's Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit said on Twitter.
