NORTH BAY, CA — Fewer than 200 customers in Napa and Solano counties were impacted by a public safety power shutoff as of 11:40 a.m. Monday, Pacific Gas and Electric Company said in an update.

PG&E started shutting off power in the two counties for safety Monday morning amid a red flag warning for the North Bay mountains, East Bay hills and East Bay mountains.

Power will be restored to customers in Napa and Solano counties affected by the PSPS outage when the severe weather passes and all lines can be inspected, a PG&E spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, another 250 North bay customers were among 2,162 without power Monday across the Bay Area because of planned maintenance or other unplanned faults on the lines, PG&E said. There were 45 customers impacted in San Francisco, 408 on the Peninsula, 250 in the North Bay, 941 in the East Bay, and 518 in the South Bay.

Further, PG&E crews were still working to restore power to approximately 700 East Bay customers without power Monday morning in El Cerrito, Hercules, Richmond, San Pablo and Oakland.

"Most of these customers were impacted by the weather-related outages that started on Sunday, in which PG&E is replacing damaged equipment," PG&E Spokesperson Deanna Contreras said.

Crews made significant progress overnight and Monday morning and alerts were sent to customers about when PG&E expects their power to be restored.

"We expect the power to be turned on intermittently throughout the day with ALL customers expected to be restored by 6 p.m. tonight," Contreras said. "Customers may experience momentary outages today, as part of the restoration process. In fact, about 9,000 customers were impacted for just a few minutes this morning in Richmond."
