PGA Tour Brings Golf Back To Silverado Resort
The PGA Tour will return to Napa County in 2027 after a one-year absence.
NAPA VALLEY, CA — The PGA Tour announced Tuesday plans to return to Napa County next year with a pro golf tournament at Silverado Resort.
The Japanese insurance company Sompo will be the sponsor of the event taking place in 2027 from July 26 to Aug. 1 at the North Course at the resort located just outside of Napa.
Napa County in recent years hosted a tournament during the PGA Tour's fall series. The tour discontinued having an event at Silverado Resort in 2026, but on Tuesday announced a return for at least one year.

PGA Tour officials in their announcement said Sompo will also sponsor a tournament as part of the tour's new Championship Series in 2028 at another location that will be announced at a later date, but did not specify if Silverado will host any tournament beyond 2027.
"Just a few weeks after we announced our new competitive model, we are delighted to welcome Sompo as the first new sponsor supporting the PGA Tour Championship Series that will launch in 2028," the tour's chief commercial officer Dhruv Prasad said in a statement. "We look forward to debuting this partnership in Napa in 2027 and are excited to announce its future home in a new market for the PGA Tour in the coming months."

Silverado Resort hosted PGA Tour events from 1968 through 1980 and again from 2014 through last year.
The tournament was usually marked by golfers lower down the PGA Tour rankings competing to ensure they had full status on the tour for the next year, though the 2025 version of what was then called the Procore Championship had the best field in the event's history since some of the top American golfers were preparing to play in the Ryder Cup international competition against Europe.
Scottie Scheffler, the top-ranked golfer in the world, won the 2025 tournament with a one-shot victory over Ben Griffin.
PGA Tour officials said the new Championship Series starting in 2028 will involve about 24 events in a season spanning February through August and will be paired with a Challenger Series with golfers able to get promoted to or relegated from the upper league.
