NAPA COUNTY, CA — One person was killed in a deputy-involved shooting Friday afternoon near the Napa County Airport, the Napa County Sheriff's Office said. The person shot and killed was involved in a pursuit that started around 2 p.m. in Napa, sheriff's Spokesman Henry Wofford told Patch.

Wofford said deputies began pursuing a car in connection with a robbery in Napa.

Napa police dispatchers broadcast the license plate number of the robbery suspect's vehicle, Wofford said, and when deputies saw the car near state Highways 29 and 221, they tried to conduct a traffic stop but the car kept going, he said.
