Prep basketball: Justin-Siena girls' star hurt; Braves still romp
Justin-Siena boys lose, keep North Coast Section playoff hopes alive.

Justin-Siena High's girls had a big victory tempered by an injury suffered to a key veteran on Senior Night at Clark Gym on Tuesday.
The Braves trounced Redwood, 58-36, in Marin County Athletic League play. Senior forward Chelsea Lazzari suffered a knee injury, however, and her status for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs is uncertain.
Justin-Siena improves to 20-5 overall and 9-3 in the MCAL. The Braves are virtually assured of a North Coast Section Division IV playoff spot.

Hailey Breakwell led the Braves with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Katherine Lee scored 16 points. Lazzari had five points and eight rebounds before being injured.
Redwood boys 56, Justin-Siena 40: The Braves lost, but continue the road back toward the top of the Marin County Athletic League. Justin is now 5-8 in the MCAL and 14-10 overall. Before second-year head coach Ray Particelli took the top job, Justin-Siena had been 4-38 in the MCAL over a four-year period.

Center Eli Granata led Justin with 11 points. Trey Boles scored eight as the Braves stayed in contention for a section playoff berth.
Trinity Prep girls 44, Freedom Christian 10: The Crusaders steamed to a victory in the Northern Pacific Athletic Conference, improving to 17-7 overall and 8-0 in the league as the Sac-Joaquin Section Division VI playoff seedings near.
Armijo boys 59, Napa 50: Daniel Salina had 13 points for the Braves in the Monticello Empire League defeat on Tuesday.
Trinity Prep boys 51, Freedom Christian 40: Christian Munoz dropped in 23 points and Jordan Franklin had 11 for the Crusaders (12-14 overall, 4-4 Northern Pacific Athletic Conference).
Vintage boys 63, Vacaville 48: The Crushers kept their slim Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoff hope alive, improving to 13-10 overall and 5-3 in the MEL. Justin Herbert led the winners with 19 points. Gianni Nola had 10 points and four assists.
Napa Christian boys 57, Cornerstone Christian 53: Senior Truman Chong scored 24 for the winners.
