Results From Friday Night's DUI Checkpoint on Trancas Street in Napa

Two arrests and three drivers with suspended licenses.

From the Napa Police Department:

Napa County Law Enforcement Officers conducted a DUI and Driver’s License Checkpoint on December 12, 2014.

The Officers were participating in the AVOID the 9 which is a grant funded by OTS. Nine Officers and one CSO worked this operation from 6:00 PM-11:30 PM.

During the operation 545 vehicles passed through the checkpoint which was in the westbound lanes of Trancas St. west of Silverado Trail in the County of Napa.

This resulted in 7 drivers being evaluated for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Subsequently, 2 of these drivers were arrested for DUI. Additionally, 3 motorists were driving with a suspended license and their vehicles were towed and impounded for 30 days.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
