Scam Alert: Callers Target Napa Residents, Pose As Sheriff's Deputy
Here's the latest way scammers are targeting Napa residents, according to the Napa Police Department.
NAPA, CA — Several Napa residents have recently been contacted by telephone by someone posing as a Napa County Sheriff's deputy, the Napa Police Department said.
"The suspects are convincing victims they have missed jury duty and a warrant will be issued for their arrest unless they pay money for bail," Napa police said. "If you receive a phone call like this, please hang up and DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY."
If any community members have fallen victim to the crime, they are encouraged to file a crime report online.
