Sonoma-Lake-Napa Cal fire Crews Work On Controlled Burns

Cal Fire said crews from its Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit assisted with a prescribed fire for vegetation management west of Cloverdale on Saturday.

"These projects help reduce hazardous fuels, improve defensible space, and strengthen the safety of our communities," Cal Fire said on social media.

Most California wildfires occur from April to October. Increased late-season burning is pushing wildfire activity further into autumn and early winter, according to a study published Monday in the journal Geophysical Research Letters.
Cal Fire said hands-on training permits crews to stay proficient and ready to safely carry out critical fire management work.
