Stabbing Suspect Arrested After Pursuit And Hours-Long Search

NAPA COUNTY, CA — A 22-year-old man was arrested in Napa County on Thursday after allegedly stabbing a woman in the arm.

Saul Eusebio was accused of assaulting the victim at about 4 p.m. in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue, in the city of Napa, and fleeing the scene, according to a news release from the Napa Police Department.

The victim suffered a stab wound to her forearm. Police officers applied a tourniquet before she was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.

Eusebio was allegedly seen by a police officer driving eastbound on Monticello Road near Bell Lane in a vehicle that matched the description of the one that left the scene of the stabbing.

He allegedly refused to stop when police attempted to pull him over and led officers on a roughly 2-mile pursuit, before crashing and running into brush on a steep hillside in an unincorporated area of the county off Monticello Road.

It took over three hours to find him, but he was located at about 7:20 p.m. after a search that was assisted by the Napa County Sheriff's Office.

Eusebio was arrested and booked into Napa County Jail on $50,000 bail for accusations of assault with a deadly weapon.

The search caused significant traffic delays on Monticello Road, police said.
