Tesla Hits Motorcycle In Fatal Crash
The crash between a 2019 KTM Duke motorcycle and a Tesla Model X was reported Saturday afternoon.
NAPA VALLEY, CA — A motorcyclist died over the weekend following a collision on Highway 29 in Napa County near Yountville, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash between a 2019 KTM Duke motorcycle and a Tesla Model X was reported about 4:10 p.m. Saturday near Hoffman Lane. The motorcycle was broadsided while the Tesla was making a left-hand turn from Hoffman Lane to northbound Highway 29, the CHP said.
The motorcyclist, whose name wasn't released, died soon after the collision. After conducting an investigation and speaking with witnesses, it appeared the motorcyclist had been traveling at a high rate of speed, according to the CHP.

It's not known if alcohol or drugs factored in the crash. The CHP said southbound Highway 29 was closed for about 3 hours.
