Tubbs Fire Remembrance Ceremony Planned In Calistoga

The event, hosted by Sen. Bill Dodd, will address wildfire prevention and recovery, as well, and is open to the community.

NAPA VALLEY, CA – Marking the first year anniversary of the devastating Tubbs Fire, a wildfire prevention forum and remembrance ceremony, open to the community, is planned for Oct. 9 in Calistoga, hosted by Senator Bill Dodd.

“It’s been a year of unparalleled hardship and challenge that revealed just how vulnerable we are to wildfire,” Dodd said. “But we have learned much from this terrible tragedy and are now taking important steps toward preventing future disasters. It is in this spirit of optimism that we rebuild, recover and thrive.”

The senator will discuss his comprehensive wildfire legislation, Senate Bill 901, which was signed by Gov. Jerry Brown earlier this month, and will lead a panel discussion about recovery and preparedness featuring local officials.
