CBS San Francisco Bay Area releases video covering their story on Yao Ming who is growing China's taste for wine.

In November 2011, Yao Ming, global humanitarian and recently retired NBA star, announced the establishment of his new Napa Valley wine company: Yao Family Wines. The company released its inaugural wine under the brand name Yao Ming®. Yao Family Wines appointed Pernod Ricard (China) as its sole and exclusive importer and distributor of the Yao Ming® wines in mainland China.

In a previous Napa Valley Vinters Press release dated April 3, 2013 “Napa Vintners Embark on China Trade Mission”:

The 26 wineries traveling with the NVV delegation include Napa Valley brands that have been available in China for several years, like Beringer Vineyards, Cakebread Cellars, Robert Mondavi Winery and Schramsberg Vineyards, along with newcomers like Heitz Wine Cellars, HALL, Silver Oak Cellars and Yao Family Wines. The group will host wine education events in Hangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai and Xi’an during the 10-day trip.
