Rumors cannot be confirmed that a spider’s web in a corner of the building outside the shelter had words woven into it that read “a really good pig”, but the Shelter staff all agreed this was very true when describing the stout little rodent with the fancy hairdo, currently up for adoption.

What else is new at the shelter? Well, as Tracey says, “What goes with everything?”

The answer: a black kitten.

“They make you look slim and will never be lost in the snow,” she says. The shelter has a lot of black kitties just waiting for good homes: For some reason, black kittens are the last to get adopted.

The shelter has many other pets -- chiefly dogs, cats, and rabbits, with the occasional chickens and guinea pigs -- available for adoption into good homes.

Stop by the shelter at 942 Hartle Court six days a week, from noon till 4:45 p.m. For more information, call (707) 253-4381.
