VIDEO: Officer's Body Cam Captures Altercation Between Officer and Mother of Missing Boy

Watch and decide for yourself. Their missing child was safely recovered by police, but the family is threatening to sue.

Fairfield Police have released video recorded on an officer’s body camera the morning an 8-year-old boy was reported missing. The mother reported that her car was stolen from her driveway with her sleeping son in the back seat. The car had been left running to warm up. Police issued an Amber Alert and later safely recovered the child.

The responding officer asked to search the family’s home, which is standard procedure when a child is reported missing--search the immediate area. There’s a possibility the child could have gotten out of the car and gone back inside the home before it was taken. The officer is heard saying, “The first thing you do any time you’re looking for anyone missing is you start where they last were and check there first. Every agency does that, that’s what we’re trying to do.”
