Wine Exports Top $1.55 Billion in 2013
California accounts for 90 percent of foreign exports.

As the 2014 harvest gets underway at some vineyards around the state, wineries are basking the in knowledge that California wine sales to all markets, both domestic and international, increased 3 percent by volume to 258 million cases in 2013, according to the Wine Institute.
Wine industry consultant Jon Fredrikson of Gomberg, Fredrikson & Associates in Woodside, reported to the Wine Institute that “California wineries focused on sales of premium table wines priced at $10 and above, which increased by 9 percent in volume and made up nearly half of winery revenues.”
Foreign exports, 90 percent from California, were especially strong, reaching $1.55 billion in winery revenues in 2013, an increase of 16.4 percent compared to 2012.
