Henry M. of Sonoma says: “I’m always a huge fan of the Pub --- they actually pour a perfect pint of Guinness whereas most places pour it too quickly. Fish & Chips have been perfect for the 16 years I’ve enjoyed this pub. Why not five stars? Service can vary. Oh yeh, many o f the servers know me... one even starts a pint when I walk in. But sometimes all the newbie staff are on duty and they act confused as to how pubs work. ‘

Toad In the Hole Pub, 116 5th St., Santa Rosa| 4 stars

Leda M. of San Francisco: “This ol’ fashioned pub does me right every time. Fresh beer battered fish’n‘chips, cask ale, and friendly staff!”

Jasper O’Farrell’s Pub, 6957 Sebastopol Ave., Sebastopol,| 3.5 stars

Mitzy M. of Santa Rosa: “Stopped by this place on a whim after a fancy dinner and the need for some good old fashioned beer. Granted I felt a little out of place with a summer dress and heels on, but I loved the low key semi divey atmosphere of the bar. It was a Thursday night and I saw a special on the board for lasagna and garlic bread - I wished we hadn’t eaten before we got there! There were many great beers to choose from and at 5.50 each (and they offer happy hour at the normal times) I was happy to be hanging out there. Definitely would love to return with more friends and to play pool!”

Downtown Joe’s Restaurant & Microbrewery, 902 Main St., Napa|3 stars

Josh B. of Winchester writes: “The beer sampler was bomb and worth it, food was pretty good, service was ok...but if your in downtown Napa i would check it out.”

Friar Tucks Pub, 8201 Old Redwood Hwy, Cotati | 3 stars

Kelly B. of Los Angeles: “Really cool place with a relaxed atmosphere. Patio in the back, place to play pool in another section of the bar. Really neat and wooded on the inside, very Irish style. This turns into a club after around 11. Food is pretty good too!”

Maguire’s Pub, 145 Kentucky St., Petaluma| 3 stars

Andy P. of Cotati: “Good beer selection , great fish n chips. Friendly service. What more do you need. Yelp said I didnt type enough. Sorry what more can I say.”

Pub Republic, 3120 Lakeville Hwy., Petaluma | 4 stars

George U. of Petaluma writes: “Pub Republic is here to stay. Fresh and deliciously prepared food from local producers. I especially like the salad selection, and soups for lunch. I’ve been here for happy hour for appetizers and drinks which satisfy enough to call it meal.”

McNear’s Saloon & Dining House, 23 Petaluma Blvd N., Petaluma | 3.5 stars

Jane B. of San Francisco says: “Kick-arse Long Islands and a menu that pleases the carnivores and vegetarians. Sit at a hi-top on the patio and watch quirky Petalumans bustle by. Fun, local place with a varied menu and decent food. If you have the Long Island, make sure you have a ride-share or taxi app. They are killer.”

Stout Brothers Irish Pub & Restaurant, 527 4th St., Santa Rosa | 3.5 stars

James C. of Sebastopol says: “I give Stout’s a 5, because as far as my experience with Irish Pubs goes, it is as good as it gets. From great service to tasty food and a fun atmosphere, this place is great if your looking for lunch or a fun spot to have dinner or drinks on the weekend. Personally, I recommend the Nancy Styles Pub Fries, because there is nothing “Nancy” about these, as they are covered in cheese, bacon, garlic and TRI-TIP!”

Patterson’s Pub & Grill, 9057 Windsor Rd, Windsor | 3.5 stars

Christine S. of Windsor says: “Great local bar on the town green! There are always a group of regulars bellied up to the bar, which is a good sign. They have great prices on draft beers, several TVs to catch the game, standard pub food... And always have Guiness on tap. The bartenders are always super friendly! Since they serve food you can bring the kids and they welcome that.”

Ruth McGowans Brew Pub, 131 E 1st St., Cloverdale | 4 stars

Michael B. of Petaluma says: “Probably been here 50 times. The beers are great and the service is so friendly. Anytime in Cloverdale is a great time to hit up Ruth McGowans.”

Norman Rose Tavern, 1401 1st St., Napa | 3.5 stars

D.J. of Napa says: “Love the food! SO DELICIOUS. Always has great specials.”
