129 Tickets: Newark Cracks Down on Bad Drivers
In addition to the tickets, two vehicles were towed.

NEWARK, CA — Sick to death of drivers blowing through stop signs or driving through your neighborhood so fast that you're afraid to cross the street?
Newark residents have been complaining to the police department about bad drivers, and on Wednesday they responded with a High Impact Traffic Team (HITT) to conduct traffic enforcement in Newark.
Traffic units from Newark, Alameda County Sheriff's Office, CHP, Fremont Police and San Leandro Police participated. They concentrated in the area of Lake Boulevard and Edgewater Drive, Spruce Street and Jarvis Avenue, and along Cherry Street.

The officers issued a total of 129 citations while towing away two vehicles. Most of the tickets were for unsafe speed and stop sign violations.
The enforcement lasted four hours.
