Latest: Apartment Fire In Newark

The fire was on Sycamore Street.

NEWARK, CA — An apartment fire in Newark Tuesday night displaced three people, according to the Alameda County Fire Department. There were no injuries.

It happened in the 36,700 block of Sycamore Street.

When firefighters arrived, there was heavy flames and smoke coming from the second story. However, they were able to contain the fire to just one unit.

While a second alarm was initially struck, the second alarm units were quickly canceled.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
