$300K To Be Distributed To Newark Nonprofits
Was your crab feed, annual banquet or other fundraiser canceled because of the pandemic? Apply for a grant.
NEWARK, CA — Volunteers at local organizations spent months planning fundraisers that had to be canceled at the last minute because of the pandemic. Those fundraisers keep the lights on, funnel money to scholarships and other worthy causes.
The City of Newark set aside $300,000 from the $11.8 million it received from the federal government's American Rescue Plan Act to be distributed to various Newark non-profit agencies within the next three years.
The City asked impacted agencies to complete a survey to help determine how the grant process should be developed.
