Appointments Open For Free Newark Dumping

Everything from tires to old carpeting to appliances will be accepted —​ but appointments are required.

NEWARK, CA — It's time for spring cleaning!

The Newark Public Works Department and Republic Services will host a Community Clean Up day, and appointments are open now for free dumping in a Newark dumpster.

Appointments to use the dumpsters are required, and appointments are open now.

The clean up day will be 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 21. It may end sooner if the dumpsters fill up.

The fine print: you must be a Newark resident with a collection bill and matching ID must be provided. Limited to one pick-up truck load per household⁠.

The dumpster will be at the Newark Service Center, 37440 Filbert St⁠.

Accepted Items:⁠

  • Appliances⁠.
  • Reusable household goods⁠.
  • Furniture⁠.
  • Mattresses.⁠
  • Metals⁠.
  • Wood⁠.
  • Carpeting⁠.
  • Tires⁠.
  • E-waste⁠⁠.

Items Not Accepted:⁠

  • Household trash⁠.
  • Dirt, construction or demolition rubble⁠.
  • Household hazardous wastes such as paint, batteries or motor oil.
  • Propane tanks.
  • Gas cylinders.
  • Lawn mowers⁠⁠.
