Athlete of the Week: Taylor Craft

Newark Memorial's Taylor Craft has earned Patch Athlete of the Week honors for her first place performance at the Woody Wilson Invitational at UC Davis last Saturday.  She won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.82 seconds.

Position: Hurdler/sprinter

Favorite subject: History

Favorite athlete: "Her father (Jerry Craft), who was a very good athlete and outstanding sprinter at Richmond High and Long Beach State," said Newark track and field coach Tony Varesio. The elder Craft is also an assistant coach with the team.

Taylor is also the president of the Newark Memorial Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
