NEWARK, CA —The Newark Police Department is investigating an auto burglary that was reported on Wednesday at the Starbucks store in the 5000 block of Stevenson Boulevard. The thief got away with two backpacks. The crime was reported just after 11 a.m. Vehicle burglaries are a huge problem throughout the Bay Area. Police have repeatedly reminded people to store items out of sight before you reach your destination.
