Body Found Near Fremont Dumbarton Pier
A group fishing made the discovery Sunday night.
FREMONT, CA - A body was found Sunday night in the marshlands near the Dumbarton Pier in Fremont, which is located at the eastern foot of the Dumbarton Bridge, police said.
A group of people who were fishing in the area found the body at 8:16 p.m. on Sunday, according to Fremont police. Patrol officers who went to the location and talked to the witnesses confirmed that they had found human remains, police said, but it isn’t known how long the body had been in the water or how long it had been at that location.
Alameda County coroner’s officials came to the scene and took custody of the body at about 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, according to police. Police said they aren’t releasing any additional details at this time because detectives are investigating the incident and the coroner’s office is investigating the cause and manner of death.

Fremont police are asking that anyone who has information about the remains call their crimes against persons unit at (510) 790-6900.
