Newark Library's October Events
Kat Blair is a librarian at the Newark Library. In this blog, she talks about weekend events available at the Newark Library for every age.

Have you missed me? Our events did slow a bit in the last couple of weeks but we are ramping up to try to cover all the bases as you'll see in this post.
It’s that spooky time of year again and we are ready at Newark Library with a shivery Magic Show put on by Blake Maxam on this coming Saturday afternoon, Oct. 15 at 3 p.m.
And we have a boo-tiful choice of b-o-o-ks out on display to whet the horrific appetite of all ages, too. We will have a Halloween craft on Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. and a Halloween Teen Party on Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. Call us at 510-795-2627 x 7 when we are open to find out more.

Other than that we are offering three Toddler Times now to accommodate the influx of new babies and moms and dads. That's on Wednesday or Friday mornings at 10 a.m. Friday Gaming is happenin’ every two weeks for kids 10 and up, and they love it! That will be happening next on Oct. 21 at 3 p.m. Even our Reading Club for 9-13 year olds has some renewed interest now. We'll meet on Oct. 27 at 3:30 p.m.
Adult Services is offering classes with Microsoft Excel and a workshop on Aging Safely at Home on Saturdays. The Excel class is full but you can still get in to the Aging Safely at Home workshop that will happen on this Saturday as well at 10 a.m.

And don't forget Stitch an Inch, knitters who meet every other Saturday since forever will be meeting again this Saturday, Oct. 15 from 12:30-2:30 p.m.
All of these activities are free to you, thanks to the Newark Library League and their ongoing book sale!
