The Music Plays On & On & On
The Newark Junior High School Band entertains other students as a farewell to the band programs at the junior high school.
As a proud parent of a graduating Newark Junior High School band student, I am saddened by the loss of music education in the l and for the band students that will be left behind.
As I reflect on the amazing year that Mr. Andre Ehling (band instructor for NJHS & ) there is one moment that stands far above the rest.
Last Friday, my son returned from school and was energized by what occurred.

Mr. Ehling decided to do a band concert in the NJHS quad before classes started. The band students had such an awesome groove that Principal Catherine Mikes requested the students continue their concert in the quad while first period started for the students.
Mrs. Mikes also invited art and choir students listen to the band in the quad during their first period to get their groove on. What an amazing finale to an awesome band program at Newark Junior High.
