BREAKING: BART Service Suspended Between Hayward, Fremont

A fire at a power substation has caused an equipment problem, according to BART officials.

BART service has stopped between Hayward and Fremont this afternoon because of an equipment problem caused by a fire at a power substation, according to a BART spokesman. The fire was reported around 12:10 p.m. at a power substation at a BART yard on the Fremont line, according to BART spokesman Taylor Huckaby.

BART service has been suspended on the Fremont line between Hayward and Fremont. A shuttle is operating between Fremont and Union City but there is no service between Hayward and Union City, Huckaby said.

BART is advising passengers to find other transportation options during the service stoppage.
