The National Day of Prayer was first observed in 1775!&nbsp; It has gone through many variations by U.S. Presidents, resulting in current recognition on the 1st Thursday in May, encouraging all Americans to pray for the nation on this day.
It is a day that transcends differences, bringing together citizens from all backgrounds.
The Tri-Valley Interfaith Council invites you to a reception, light dinner, and a program of prayers from many faith based leaders. They thank event sponsor Alameda County Supervisor David Haubert.
Where: Alameda County Fairgrounds, 4501 Pleasanton Ave.
Time: 5:00-6:00pm Reception &amp; Light Dinner. 6:00-7:00pm Program.

The Silliman Activity and Family Aquatic Center

The annual "FUNdamental" Cougars girls basketball camp will be held Monday-Thursday, July 13-16, 900 am - 12 Noon, at the Silliman Activity Center Gymnasium, 6800 Mowry Avenue, Newark.The camp is designed for girls in the 1st-8th grade, with all skill and ability levels welcome.&nbsp; The camp is directed by Coach Darryl Reina, Newark Memorial High School, Varsity Basketball Coach, assistant coaches, and players.&nbsp; Emphasis will be on shooting, ball-handling, passing, agility, footwork, and having FUN!&nbsp; The fee is $149 for Newark residents, and $159 for non-residents.&nbsp; To register go to newark.org
