The Youth Sustainability Challenge is an applied STEAM science-fair-style competition for middle and high school students focused on stewardship, sustainability, and environmental problem-solving. This community-based competition is open to students in Santa Clara, Alameda, and San Mateo Counties.

The 2026 theme, Stewardship in Action: Caring for Land, Animals, and Community.

  • Last Day to Enter: March 22
  • Last Day to Submit Written Portion of the Project via Email: March 22
  • Exhibition and Judging: April 12
  • Entry Fee: $25 (Fee Waiver available for Title I Schools)
