The July 11 program will feature a special guest. Local comedian Jessica Seto will help us to get the conversation started with her unique humor about family and community. All are welcome.

City of Union City, Youth & Family Services 

Cypress Mandela Training Center offers a no tuition, 16-week pre-apprenticeship program for Bay Area residents ages 18 and older. This program is both hands-on and in the classroom. Students will be prepared for skilled trades jobs that are relevant to today’s construction industry. 
The next program begins in August. For those interested, the next orientation is July 2nd at 9 AM. For Union City residents (ages 18-24), after completion of the program there is a possibility of securing a paid construction internship with Lennar. 

Enrollment in Cypress Mandela Training Center requires the following:

 <li>Birth Certificate or Passport or Permanent Resident Card</li>
 <li>Valid California Driver’s License or ID</li>
 <li>High School Diploma or GED or Transcript</li>
 <li>Social Security Card</li>
 <li>Current DMV printout</li>

Parade Celebrating our 250th! Event is hosted by the Fremont 4th of July Parade nonprofit, with top sponsors: Event sponsor City of Fremont and Title Sponsor Fremont Chevrolet.&nbsp;
The Parade kicks off at 10:00am from the Fremont Main Library on Stevenson and the 1 mile route ends at City Hall on Capital Ave. Featuring 70 entries and 5 helium balloons on this route, the Announcers and Judges Booth will be centrally located at Angry Chickz on Paseo Padre Parkway.&nbsp;
Welcoming this year's Grand Marshal Rose-Margaret Ekeng-Itua, Ohlone College Professor leading STEM for Girls, Earn to Learn manufacturing opportunities, and many more incredible learning and career opportunities for people of all ages. Greet elected officials: Fremont Mayor &amp; City Council, Alameda County Supervisors David Haubert &amp; Elisa Marquez, and Assemblymember Alex Lee.

The Silliman Activity and Family Aquatic Center

The annual "FUNdamental" Cougars girls basketball camp will be held Monday-Thursday, July 13-16, 900 am - 12 Noon, at the Silliman Activity Center Gymnasium, 6800 Mowry Avenue, Newark.The camp is designed for girls in the 1st-8th grade, with all skill and ability levels welcome.&nbsp; The camp is directed by Coach Darryl Reina, Newark Memorial High School, Varsity Basketball Coach, assistant coaches, and players.&nbsp; Emphasis will be on shooting, ball-handling, passing, agility, footwork, and having FUN!&nbsp; The fee is $149 for Newark residents, and $159 for non-residents.&nbsp; To register go to newark.org
